The July 2010 music jam: what to do?
Today marks the beginning of the 2010 Music Jam party on Club Penguin!
First of all, head to the cove and get your free music jam headphones, available to all players.
Are you a member? For 50 coins buy a backstage pass and gain access to behind the stage at the dock or to the Casa Fiesta through the ski village.
You can buy the pass, and tons of other cool new t-shirts at one of the "Shirts Rock" stands. There's one of the stands at the Forts, and another at the ski village called "Merch." (They sell the same things, despite the different names!)
Once backstage, you can get a free Music Jam t-shirt! It's red with white sleeves.
Don't forget, that also in the backstage room, you can purchase some extra instruments, not in the clothing catalog. The three instruments for sale are congo drums, a tuba, and a blue electric guitar. Happy shopping!

New Entrance To Hidden Lake
A new entrance to the Hidden Lake is now here to stay. It was a big boulder in the Forest that rolled away to lead to a ladder to the Hidden Lake. It is staying here for good now, not just for the Adventure Party! This is great, now whenever I want to go there, I don't have to walk through tons of useless rooms throughout the mine.
The blue arrow points to the ladder leading to the Hidden Lake. Mouse over the boulder and it rolls away and leads to this. Enjoy!

July 2010 catalog - hidden items
I was pleasantly surprised to discover this afternoon that the July 2010 club penguin catalog was in! I went ahead and bought every single new thing. Here are the hidden items for you to buy. The places circled in red are the places that you need to click on to see the hidden item. Here you go!

Spelling out numbers doesn't send
Yeah, it sucks. Simply saying "one," "two," ...etc. does not go through on club penguin. So here's what does send, so you know not to be clueless.For 1 say won
For 2 say too
For 3 say tree
For 4 say for
Now I know that it sounds like it won't make sense, but other penguins will understand. So if you say "I want for shirts" or "I threw tree snowballs," it will send, and most people will get what you mean.

The new July catalog
So I was reading my CP times, and in the paper I realized that on July 2nd, the new catalog is coming out, with new instruments. Instruments haven't been in the catalog since winter! So what I've managed to gather so far is that the clothing items have to do with music.
"Instruments are even being set up with the Lighthouse's sound system, so audiences will hear them loud and clear." Hmm, this makes me excited as to what comes next!
Read your newspaper and look for your own clues. We'll all be waiting for next Friday!

"The Alpha" Hair
From the elite gear that you can buy with earned medals, I just bought The Alpha hair. So if you're curious as to how it looks on a penguin, you can see it on me before you buy it.
Herbert at Mine?
If you haven't noticed it already, you definitley need to check this out at the Mine... an ice sculpture of Herbert! Yes, Herbert the polar bear! I also found out that this is the same statue from the EPF DS game (not Herbert's Revenge, I don't think). Very mysterious.
Ruby and the Ruby Pin
During the play Ruby and the Ruby, there is a special ruby pin you can get any time the play is at the Stage! As you can see in the picture, you must first click the file cabinet with the globe on top. Then click the lamp, then the trash can, then the book next to the lamp, then click the flower pot next to the striped chair, and finally the painting. Click it and you should find a safe behind the painting. Click on the safe and it should open and there should be a ruby ring inside. Click on it and you should have it in your pins!
Drill on the X at the cove
After finding all of the boats and obtaining the background for it, go to the cove and drill on the X at the cove. After a bit of drilling, you'll get
a free pirate hat like this one!
Keep throwing snowballs...
At the mine! If you throw enough snowballs in the little cup thing at the top of the mine, you'll make water flow to the plants. Keep throwing though, because eventually the water runs out. See what happens.
The lightbulb pin
Head over to the pizza parlor, and up near the piano you'll find the lightbulb pin. This pin is only available until July 1st, so hurry!
